Dry Bones
Have you ever felt like every hope was lost?
That the very breath inside you came at such an awful cost?
Do you know the darkness that envelopes many souls?
Daily steps add up one by one and take a gradual toll.
In despair have you asked if there was a point to go on?
Do you question why alone now, all others have now gone?
Why must you keep on fighting a futile battle to the grave?
In a valley of death and loss you feel no reason to be brave.
Hope seems to have all but died many years ago.
The reprieve that you seek, your heart no longer knows.
Why must you keep on fighting when death lies all around?
Bones are scattered dry and broken, laying on the ground.
But the God of Ezekial told him to prophesy,
To bones laying on the ground that were fragile and dry.
He obeyed with promises from God to bring life back.
The bones knit back together; God supplied their lack.
With His breath He breathed in them and an army rose to life.
Symbolically He spoke to me when death was near and rife.
He showed me how He can heal what lays down deep inside.
He can take my dry bones and breathe away the lies.
The enemy convinced me for many years that I,
Couldn’t heal and couldn’t ever win this fight.
But God gives me life to face another day.
And He’s promised me that He is always here to stay.
No matter what has harmed and hurt you in the past you see,
God can take and use it; He’s won the victory.
He will heal and mend you if you but trust in Him.
No wound is too great, nor too powerful is sin.
God has won and He will never leave you all alone.
Though the battles still go on, His love will atone.
You are His and He is yours, let Him make you whole.
May you be refreshed with new life to your soul.
