Live Your Very Best

Live is often fragile, held by a very thin thread.
Dangers often lurk nearby, based on the path we tread.
Decisions that we make can often cross the line.
We feel we’ll live forever, so we gamble with our time.

Our lifestyle’s oft neglected, as we race about our chores.
Healthy eating and exercise really are a bore.
We’d rather order fast food; we’ve got so much to do.
‘Life waits for no man,’ nor does it wait for you.

Sometimes we drink too heavy, a price our body pays.
Or we smoke away our stress, more toxins by the day.
How many times do we drive too fast, so we aren’t late to work?
Is the risk of an accident really what your worth?

We all know the rules of life, to be healthy and live our best.
“Eat your veggies, exercise, make time for you to rest.”
“Don’t smoke. Don’t do drugs. Drive withing the lines.”
“Be careful in each moment to make the best of time.”

I’m not saying to be worried or be afraid to live.
But live with purpose and a plan. Treat each day as a gift.
Our time on earth is short. Why make it shorter still?
There is an abundance of things, our days with which to fill.

Live your life with meaning. Embrace your dearest friends.
Fill it with the good things. On convictions do not bend.
Live your life as a blessing. A give of time to use.
Don’t treat it cheap or valueless. The path is yours to choose.
