Stardust And Moon Shine

“Where did I come from?” The young boy said to the old man.

“From stardust and lighting, moon shine and earth.
Bright cosmic rays attended your birth.
The universe gave way, one particle after another,
To create your special person that is unlike any other.”

“But where am I going?” the young boy asked again.
“You are going forth through the universe back to where you began.
We all start from nothing and return to nothing at last.
Amid the stars and the planets, your atoms will spread vast.”

“So what is the point of my time here?” the boy asked once more.
His eyes shone with wonder and fear, and his words did implore.
“Like the sun and the moon, their time is temporary.
But both shine and share in the cosmic beauty.”

“Your time is fleeting to live and to love,
But the legacy you leave stretches to heaven above.
Like the stars in their beauty, they glimmer and gleam.
But one day they fade out, no more to be seen.”

“But they fade into star dust and from that you came.
And one day a new star, from star dust is made.
So someday your energy will pass on in another form.
From you will come an energy that’s eternally warm.”

“That energy is love and holds the cosmos together.
Your love will never die; it simply changes forever.
So your energy goes on like the rays of the sun.
And in a way your life here will never be done.”

“For with each decade a bit of you passes,
To the next generation, touching the masses.
In time hundreds and thousands might live because of you.
For all those you love pass your energy through.”

“So while your days are fleeting, they never really end.
Eternal energy through our veins the universe lends.
Cosmic rays, sunshine, air and electricity,
Converge to form you. You’re a mystery.”

“So when life here is over, it’s only just began.
See you just simply change forms, no longer a man.
What you become is a piece of the universe.
You simply return from whence you dispersed.”

“And some day in the future, a new life will emerge.
You’ll return like a phoenix from the ashes a new bird.
Your first life on earth, but your second, with wings you will fly,
In the clouds above, to a far distant sky.”

“Some call it heaven. I simply don’t know.
But I know this, it’s a place all good men go.
For the energy of the universe is eternal and it made you.
The energy is love which lasts forever, it’s true.”

“Since love lasts forever, because energy never fades.
It simply changes forms, and the path work is laid.
Love never dies, and good men whose love doesn’t lack,
Simply return when the universe calls them back.”

“So do not fear for the future, simply love one and all.
Share the energy of the universe to both big and to small.
Your home is always amid the stars and the galaxies above.
Your time is just borrowed by the earth which needs your love.”

“One day when in your journey you’ve learned all there is to learn
Back to the moon and the stars you’ll simply return.
There you will learn about stardust and moon shine,
But the most important thing, is to love and be kind.”

“This may sound redundant, but I’m an old man at last.
My days were spent in folly, in work and in tasks.
It took me many years to learn the truth about love.
So heed my words and live wisely and look up above.”

The young boy was quiet. He didn’t know what to say.
But within his heart a small spark started a ray.
That ray shined forth to everyone he met.
And his pathway on earth was instantly set.

For the young boy felt his calling and purpose as he pondered great thoughts,
Of stardust and moon shine, of eternity and what it had wrought.
He knew he had a purpose and a mission to fill.
Because he was born of greatness. The universe did his life will.

You too are made of stardust and moon shine, cosmic rays of the sun.
Your legacy will last and forever go on.
So love fiercely all those you meet but most importantly,
Recognize from love you were made, and inside love you’ll always be.

The universal energy, which is love, that holds everything together,
Created you and me, and is with us forever.
Hold onto that love and extend it to your fellow man.
But also cherish it for yourself, and in universal love always stand.
