Invisible
“What, am I invisible?” She asks into the night.
Longing daily just for someone to walk by her side.
Knowing she can offer faithfulness and love.
Yet no one seems to notice what she’s really made of.
A man asks in his prayers “Why am I alone?”
“Why am I always put into the ‘friend zone?’”
He works hard, loves hard and follows where God leads.
And yet he desires one thing, a soulmate he needs.
Why is it so hard to find the one true partner?
We watch as the days slip by, one after the other.
We pray hard and often in earnest for God to hear.
Some days we think we’ll never find someone dear.
Daily people pass each other by, and little do they know.
Love is in the people nearby, but it’s yet to grow.
How do you break that ice, and how do you find someone?
Do you trust in God alone to point you to ‘the one?’
How will you know when they are by your side?
What if you’ve found them but your love you hide?
You hide it because you do not know how they feel about you.
You don’t want to be hurt again; You want a love that’s true.
How do you tell another to take a chance at love?
You can’t force them but maybe give them a little nudge.
How do you scream “I’m the one you’re looking for?’
Without being deemed a lunatic or something more.
You watch as one by one, your friends all tie the knot.
Families are born, and children all grow up.
Yet year after year you work on yourself.
Preparing for the time when you’re next on the shelf.
But the day never comes, or so it seems to be.
You give up and move on and determine love’s not for me.
Until it’s stirred up by someone you don’t even expect.
But how to make them notice, how to be next?
I don’t have the answers, I’ve failed the game of love.
I just keep on praying for an answer from above.
I pray that when it’s the right time, my soulmate I will find.
And they will see me too, they will not to me be blind.
At least that is the prayer, check with me in ten years.
A lot can happen in that time, a lot of joy and tears.
So, will I find a partner to share away my days?
I don’t have the answer, but I trust in Him always.
He will guide and lead me through whatever path I need.
And His guiding direction I will try to heed.
So, if he sends me a partner, I’ll try my best to love,
With the love He has showed me from above.
So, God if you have another for me to share my love with,
Be sure they see me and please try to be quick
I know Your timing is best, but my patience wears thin.
But I will try to wait and not let my hopes grow dim.
Thank You for the blessing of love You’ve given us.
Thank You for letting us share it with all those we must.
But more importantly, help us share love with those who need it most.
And Father when I need it, bring love up to me, close.
If you deem me to be single with the life that remains for me,
I’ll gladly walk beside You as You guide my feet.
You know my heart and what I truly need.
I may feel invisible, but I know Your love will lead.
You’ll lead me where I need to go and fill all the holes.
How You’ll do it is a mystery, but Your love I’ll always know.
So, lead me on each day and if You deem it wise,
Lead me to the one that will see me through Your eyes.
Help me to love them with the love You’ve given me.
Help them to never feel they are lonely.
Help them to know that You are always true.
Help them to want to only follow You.
Until that day comes, if it ever does,
Forever guide them and protect them from above.
Go with me now, guide my every step.
I leave this in Your hands, my heart securely kept.
