WARNING – This is a really dark poem that was inspired by a chronic toothache and my personal struggles with trying to find a soulmate. It’s however about a bad breakup and betrayal in a deep relationship. I personally know the pain of losing someone you love and trusted and feel that these words will resonate with many.
Unrequited Love
Unrequited love turns to darkness in my soul.
Our relationship dying takes a very nasty toll.
My bones ache inside me, numbness coursing through my veins.
Deafening silence engulfs me. Pain forever reigns.
My heart’s no longer beating. It’s melting through the floor.
I’m not sure how much I can take; I can’t handle anymore.
Resentment builds inside me: It’s creeping up the walls.
Anger slowly engulfs me. No one sees me fall.
Your demons are forever screaming and raging through my head.
You’ve left me torn and battered, surely better off dead.
Possessed by a dark evil that has gradually taken your place.
Your memories forever tainted; My thoughts deeply laced.
If I survive this betrayal, I’ll never love again.
My body consumed as a sacrifice to amend your sins.
